Membership Application

There's nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer.
Edgmont Township Fire Company No.1 is always looking for new members. We have openings for Line personnel (firefighters, EMTs) and Staff/Support personnel (administrative).
Becoming a volunteer firefighter and responding to calls for emergency assistance by our neighbors is a rewarding way to become involved with your community and to do something important for our community. No experience is necessary; we provide all the training and equipment you will need. To become a firefighter you will need more than just a desire to help people and give back to the community. You will need courage, dedication, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn new skills and face new challenges.
All firefighters receive basic firefighting training by certified instructors at local accredited training facilities. Additional training is offered in advanced firefighting and vehicle rescue, as well as a host of specialized areas that further enhance skill sets. Besides attending the training at the fire school and responding to emergency calls, members’ meet on Thursday evenings for additional training drills and the second Monday of each month for our monthly business meeting.
Firefighting isn’t for everyone and although we have a great need for firefighters, we also need non-operational help. Although we welcome any and all professions, the following is a list of areas of expertise we have an immediate need for:
- Business management
- Website management
- IT
- Fund raising (For Profit or Non Profit experience is welcome)
- Grant Writers
So if you’re looking for that perfect opportunity to take on the challenge of becoming a firefighter or to help us out in a support capacity, you can stop by our station on Gradyville Road any Thursday evening to talk to one of our officers, or fill out the application by clicking HERE, or clicking on the thubnail below.
There’s no better way to show your support and pride for the community then helping to keep your neighbors, their homes and businesses safe. So maybe it's time to add a new suit to your wardrob.
